August Book Haul

Photo 3-9-17, 3 33 24 pm

Well here is my August book haul, better late (only by a few days) than never I guess! I feel like August was a good month in terms of both working life and personal life, and I was quite busy. I got into a good rhythm of reading after what felt like quite a while of never being in the mood to read, and it had been taking me a while to finish a book, when generally I’m quite a fast reader. Finally though I’m back into the swing of things and I read quite a few books in August.

July Book Haul

Photo 29-7-17, 4 00 44 pm

July is always a fun month for me, not only is it my birthday month, but it’s my boyfriend’s as well, so there’s always lots to look forward to. Needless to say, I’m sad July is already over, it’s been a great month with lots of time spent with friends and family which has kept me busy, but maybe August will be a bit quieter and I can get more reading done!

May Book Haul

Photo 27-5-17, 4 30 22 pm

Yep, it’s book haul time again! I don’t know what it is about May, but for me it’s usually the month I always forget about. Also, after having such a busy month in April, May was just really quiet. There’s not really anything that happens in May, in Melbourne the weather starts getting really chilly, there aren’t any public holidays, nothing that really makes it stand out, it’s the understated month.

March Book Haul

Photo 31-3-17, 6 26 45 pm

I put myself on a book buying ban during March. I went overseas for two weeks during the middle of the month and wasn’t going to be able to carry books around with me, so there didn’t seem much point in buying books that I wouldn’t be able to read for a few weeks, also I wanted to save as much money as I could for my holiday. Enter kindle.

The Diabolic | Book Review

photo-19-2-17-12-53-32-pm

I’d heard good things about The Diabolic so it went straight on my wish list. I ended up getting it for Christmas and could not have been more pleased when I unwrapped it and saw its beautiful cover. It was my second read of 2017, and I have to say I’m pretty happy with the books I’ve read so far this year. Admittedly I’ve read less than I would like, but The Diabolic was such a great read that I don’t mind too much.

January Book Haul

photo-31-1-17-4-28-30-pm

First month of the year is now done and dusted. January is always a bit of a funny month, it takes a bit of time to get back into a normal routine, and to remember to write 2017 instead of 2016. Like everyone else I’ve set goals for myself this year that include everything from career, home, travel, as well as book related goals, such as creating content for this blog and my Instagram account.

December Book List

photo-1-1-17-2-38-47-pm

December is a busy month for pretty much everyone, and as much as I enjoy the Christmas period, I also find it quite exhausting, and can’t deny that I feel some amount of relief when it’s over. I would have liked to have this blog post up yesterday, but I just ended up running out of time, so it has now become my first post of 2017.

November Book List

photo-24-11-16-2-22-00-pm

We are now at the time of the year when things start to get a little bit hectic. A lot of people get really busy with work or school, on the home stretch towards the year being over. There are Christmas parties to attend, presents to buy, decorations to put up, gingerbread to eat, the list is endless. Like all bookworms though, I still make time to pull together a book haul.

October Book List

02

I’m so happy with the books I got this month. A few were books I’d been wanting for a while and some are newer releases that I picked up. I’ve had a fairly quiet month in October so was able to get a lot of reading done which was great, and I felt like I got into a good reading rhythm.

A Court of Mist and Fury | Book Review

photo-11-10-16-2-44-21-pm

Okay, upon finishing the last page of this book I had to just sit in silence for a minute to take it all in. I really loved the first book in this series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, but A Court of Mist and Fury just took the story to a whole different level. Sarah J. Maas expanded upon the world she introduced us to in the first book, making the story so much richer and introducing some of the greatest new characters.
